Coldplay records collaboration with Little Simz – Music News
Coldplay recorded a song with Little Simz.
The chart-topping band and the 30-year-old rap star have teamed up to record a new song, which has the working title “Supernova.”
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Both artists were excited about working together on a collaborative project.”
Sims, who also stars in Coldplay and the Netflix drama revival Top Boy, recently shot the music video for the new single in East London.
“No expense was spared in creating a high-end production,” said a source.
Over the years, Coldplay has performed alongside some of the world's most famous artists, including BTS, Rihanna and Selena Gomez.
And the band's frontman Chris Martin previously insisted that collaborating with BTS felt very “natural” and “organic.”
Speaking about their 2021 track “My Universe,” Chris told BBC Radio 2: “We went to Korea to record it with them and it went from a completely ridiculous, impossible idea to something so natural and organic. So it makes me laugh, because now I'm like, 'Yeah, this is a song with BTS and us and they're like our little brothers and it's so cool' but it still looks crazy on paper.”
Chris, 47, also revealed the origin of the song's title.
The singer, who was also known for dating Dakota Johnson in 2017, said: “Someone told me, 'Oh, BTS wants you to write a song,' and I said, 'No way, how would you do that?' But then I really grew to love BTS and what they were doing.”
“So I was thinking, if the right song came along, I don't know what it would be about, and then I was texting with someone very important to me, and the phrase 'My Universe' came to me, and I thought, 'Oh, that's a really good title.'”
