The track appears on the singer's new album Room Under the Stars
Zayn Malik has released a fantastic music video for “Stardust.” The single appears on the former One Direction member's new LP Room Under the Stars, which is released today.
In the clip, directed by Frank and Ivanna Bolin, Zane is an earthbound celestial being guided by a shooting star to explore magically colored lakes and forests. “Feeling like stardust/Floating around us,” he sings in this anthem. “Shoot across the big black sky.”
Room Under the Stairs was co-produced by Dave Cobb and was written over several years at Malik's home in rural Pennsylvania. This will be Malik's first album with his new label, Mercury Records.
“This is my favorite album I've ever made, mainly because it was born out of pure honesty and vulnerability,” Zayn said in a statement. “I wanted each song to feel as if I were sitting next to you, telling you how I feel and singing directly to you. It's raw and stripped back. It's the type of music I've always wanted to make. Working with Dave Cobb was a great experience. They did a great job making the record, taking the listener on a whimsical and magical journey, and making sure they enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it. I hope you listen to it.”

The musician continued, “I think just being where I was at the time, distancing myself from things, living my life on my own terms, made me want to write from that place. I have to put this out as a body of work, not just for the world, but for myself.”
Malik's last album, Nobody Is Listening, was released in 2021. Since then, he has released several singles, including “To Begin Again” with Ingrid Michaelson, a cover of Jimi Hendrix's “Angel,” and last year's “Love Like This.” ” In January, he collaborated with up-and-coming Pakistani group Awl to reinterpret their hit single “Tu Hai Kahan.”
