As always, there were several new music releases this week, but this time around it's going to be especially appealing for pop music fans.
Starting with Sabrina Carpenter, the rising star performed “Please Please Please,” the sparkling second single from her upcoming album, Short & Sweet. Accompanied by a playful video featuring real-life boyfriend Barry Keoghan, the song finds the singer pleading with her lover to control himself. Broke her heart? Fine. Just don't embarrass yourself.
Listeners also got to enjoy new albums from Thames and Charli XCX: the Nigerian superstar released his 18-track debut album, Born in the Wild, while the British pop pioneer released his highly anticipated album, Brat, on Friday (June 7). The former reaffirmed Thames' all-around talent for singing, writing and composing, while the latter project has brought Charli the highest reviews of her career.
On the pop front, new singles also come from Lay, Jungkook and Gracie Abrams: the “Escapism” singer displays his genre-bending auteurism on the seven-minute track “Genesis,” while the BTS star channels sentimentality on his solo single “Never Let Go,” while Abrams leans into her pop side more than ever on the previously scrapped “Close to You,” a precursor to her upcoming album, “The Secret of Us,” which she co-produced with Taylor Swift.
Additionally, Zach Bryan has teamed up with artist Noeline Hoffman for a beautiful ballad titled “Purple Skies.”
It can be hard to choose from all the new music released this week, but be sure to vote in Billboard's New Release Poll below and let us know which is your favorite.
