Tyler, the Creator abruptly cancels Lollapalooza and Outside Lands headline shows – Music News

Tyler, the Creator has announced that he has been forced to pull out of his headlining slots at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands festivals.

The 33-year-old rap sensation was scheduled to perform at two major music events in August but has now been forced to pull out.

Announcing the news via X on Thursday, the star wrote, “I hate to say this but I have to cancel Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. I made promises I can no longer keep and it's disappointing knowing how excited everyone was. Not sexy at all.”

He added, “Please forgive me. Please swear at me when we meet in person. I love you.”

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer previously headlined both festivals in 2021, but the gaps left on the lineup for the 2024 events have already been filled.

Following Tyler's announcement, Lollapalooza released a statement via X revealing that Megan Thee Stallion will be taking the stage to close the event.

They wrote, “Chicago's Hot Girl Summer…Unfortunately Tyler, The Creator can't perform this year. Catch @theestallion headlining at the Lolla on Thursday, August 1st!”

And Espresso singer Sabrina Carpenter was brought in to liven up the Outside Lands crowd.

Festival organizers announced the news on X, writing, “We're excited to announce that @SabrinaAnnLynn will headline the Land's End Stage on Saturday August 10th! Due to personal reasons, Tyler, The Creator will not be performing at Outside Lands.”
