TOP teases “a ton of new songs” to be released “soon”

Former Big Bang member TOP hinted that he has “a ton of new songs” that will be released “soon.”

In a recent Instagram post, TOP teased his long-awaited new solo song and addressed the cancellation of the “dearMoon” project. The moon trip, funded by Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, was originally scheduled to launch in 2023 using a spacecraft developed by SpaceX.

The K-pop idol was first announced as one of eight civilian crew members for the project in December 2022, along with Japanese-American DJ Steve Aoki, Indian actor Dev Joshi and up-and-coming photographer Rhiannon Adam.

“Being selected to be part of the 'dearMoon' crew is one of the greatest honors of my life,” TOP wrote on Instagram. “I feel my body and soul have developed a deep and direct connection with the moon. Preparing for the lunar exploration has stretched my imagination to places I never expected.”

The musician added that the experience has had a “profound impact on my life and the music I create,” saying, “This opportunity has already inspired me to compose a ton of new music, some of which I look forward to releasing soon.”

“Thanks to the DearMoon mission, my dream of going to space, which had seemed completely impossible, felt possible for the first time,” he continued. “This invaluable experience has changed my life and perspective forever. My dream of going to the Moon is not over yet.”

T.O.P. will next be appearing in the upcoming season 2 of Netflix's hit K-drama series, “Squid Game.” Earlier this year, Netflix released a teaser trailer for “Squid Game” season 2, with lead actor Lee Jung-jae telling Business Insider, “It's scheduled to be released in December.”

Meanwhile, T.O.P. confirmed that he will be “leaving” BIGBANG as a member in May 2023. At the same time, the musician said that he is “facing a new chapter in his life.”
