Sen. Scott (R-South Carolina) criticized Handler in a social media post on Friday, saying she should “tell other black people how to think.”

“Yes, by all means, white women, tell other black men what they should think,” Scott wrote.

Scott has previously opposed the idea that black people should vote Democrat and recently criticized “The View” after the show mocked his leadership in winning black voters over to the Republican Party.

“Ladies from 'The View': Oh my goodness. Let me state this very clearly: There is no Democratic Party without the Black vote,” Scott told “Hannity.” “And since I was elected to Congress in 2010, there have been no Black Republicans before that. [in Congress]But since then, there have been seven.”

“President Trump's policies have led to a surge in Black Republican political candidates at the city level, county level, state level and in Congress,” Scott said.

“We're seeing black city council members and congressional representatives all across the country,” he said. “There's a wave of black legislators who are Republicans. But the black vote is following suit.”

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin said Friday that Scott hasn't been a forceful advocate for black conservatives. Scott drew her ire last year when he rejected her views on systemic racism on the show.

“Speaking for African-American voters, if anybody thinks Tim Scott is going to bring in a lot of black men, they should go with that, because there's a reason Tim Scott is the only African-American senator in the Republican Party,” Hostin said.
