Kate Upton is attracting attention as she appears on the cover of the 2024 issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
The model joins Chrissy Teigen, Gayle King and Hunter McGrady as the magazine's latest cover models.
Celebrating its 60th anniversary, Sports Illustrated has released seven covers, hitting newsstands on May 17th.
“It's a huge honor,” Upton told People magazine ahead of the announcement. “This really speaks to where fashion is going and the message: [Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s editor-in-chief] MJ Day wants to advocate for women to support women, show different body types, and represent different things that women believe in. ”

Upton made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2011 and was named Rookie of the Year that year. Her 31-year-old mother made her first solo cover appearance in 2012, and she did so again the following year. In 2014 she appeared on the flip cover, and in 2017 she appeared on the cover again.

To commemorate the milestone birthday, the outlet will publish a special collectible trilogy of covers from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's 60th Anniversary Legend shoot.

Rapinoe, Molly Sims, Nina Agdal, Paige Spiranac, Paulina Porizkova, Roshumba Williams, Sue Bird, Tyra Banks, Winnie Harlow.

All seven covers were shot by renowned SI Swimsuit photographer Yu Tsai.
“For the past 60 years, we have broken stereotypes, embraced diversity and championed inclusion,” Day said in a statement sent to Fox News Digital. “Year after year, we have challenged ourselves to push the boundaries and redefine what it means to be Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. This year's issue is an homage to our recent past, but we continue to It's also a reminder of the work we have to do: to challenge the status quo, celebrate strength and confidence, and inspire those around us to embrace our uniqueness and fearlessly pursue our passions. We've strived to reshape social norms and redefine beauty standards, and this year's issue does just that.”
“Before, there was only one cover model who was considered the epitome of beauty at the time,” Day continued. “But today, we have seven covers featuring 27 women, all of whom have helped shape a world where they feel more represented and more empowered than ever before. .

Teigen was named Rookie of the Year in 2010. Teigen, a 38-year-old mother of four, also appeared on the 2014 cover alongside Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge.

McGrady stole the show in the 2017 SI Swimsuit issue. McGrady, a 31-year-old mother of two, became known as the outlet's “curvaceous model of all time.” McGrady told People magazine that she was almost nine months postpartum after welcoming her second child at the time of her latest issue photo shoot.
“Every year, I become more and more confident in who I am and what I bring to the table,” McGrady told FOX News Digital ahead of the cover reveal. “And when I first shot for Sports Illustrated in 2016, I was young and had no idea of the opportunities it would bring me or the platform it would give me. And since then, I've grown as a person.” ”

“It's so much bigger than me,” she exclaimed. “It's much bigger than a beautiful photo, it's like the cherry on top. The message for me is inclusivity. That's what makes this photo so beautiful. The first swimsuit issue was launched in 1964. It has since become the starting point for models such as McGrady, Brinkley, Kathy Ireland, Elle McPherson, and Ashley Graham.
