Inspired by tragedy, the album explores how Shaw's world is turned upside down when the singer's fiancé, Joe Haner, dies in a horrific car accident just weeks before their wedding. It tells the story. It was a crushing defeat for Shannon and the Crumbs, who were incredibly close to Hayner.
Despite the circumstances, Shaw and the band managed to write a truly magical album. This album tells the story of an intense and brave journey on a carpet of cosmic emotions.
The song includes guitarist Cody Blanchard's recent single “Big Wheel,” in which he responded to Joe's death. This is a meditation on how time and reality become distorted in the face of sudden loss. The accompanying music video, directed by Vanessa Pla, is an eerie exploration of time that is visually reminiscent of silent-era films.
The album also includes the single “Bean Fields”, which is the album's emotional high point and a celebration of life. Hoehner's farm, particularly the vast bean field he planted, was the scene of a tragic car accident, but they also symbolize the lasting impact he had on those around him.
