Sea Girls reaches new highs on this week's Official Albums Chart, with Taylor Swift achieving a new personal best by spending a seventh week at the top.
Sea Girls, the British rock band comprised of Henry Camamile, Rory Young, Andrew Dawson and Oli Khan, celebrated three consecutive top five albums with the debut of their third studio album, Midnight Butterflies (5). The group has previously enjoyed success with 2020's Open Up Your Head (3) and their 2022 LP Homesick (3).
A best-seller in UK independent record stores this week, Midnight Butterflies also debuts at the top of the Official Record Store Charts.
But it's Taylor Swift who's back at the top of the charts, with The Tortured Poets Department staying at No. 1 for a seventh week in a row. Taylor's 11th studio album extends her record for the longest tenure at the top of the charts in the UK, surpassing the previous record of 2022's Midnights, which spent five consecutive weeks at the top.
Billie Eilish's former chart-topping hit, “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT,” shows staying power, coming in at No. 2 (2) this week.
Missouri-born pop music writer Chapel Lawn reached new heights this week with her 2023 debut, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which rose six places to No. 9, making it into the top 10 for the first time.
Paul McCartney & Wings' live studio album One Hand Clapping debuts today at No. 10. The album was recorded at London's famed Abbey Road Studios in August 1974 and is finally getting its official release nearly 50 years later. It's the group's first top 10 album in 45 years, since Back to the Egg made it to No. 6 in 1979.
North Carolina native Luke Combs earned his fourth Top 40 album this week with Fathers & Sons (No. 14). The country star's fifth studio album is Combs' third Top 40 appearance, following 2019's What You See Is What You Get (No. 27), 2022's Growin' Up (No. 9) and 2023's Gettin' Old (No. 5).
Foo Fighters bring their Everything Or Nothing At All Tour to UK stadiums and their 2022 hits compilation The Essential vault 23 returns to the Top 40 (19).
Don Toliver achieved his fourth Top 40 album with HARDSTONE PSYCHO (27). Born Caleb Zachary Toliver, the Texas rapper, singer, and songwriter has followed that success with 2020's Heaven Or Hell (16), 2021's Life of a DON (26) and 2023's Love Sick (36).
Michigan native John Grant achieves his fifth UK Top 40 album this week with his sixth studio album, The Art of the Lie (#28). Grant has previously had success with 2010's Queen of Denmark (#59), 2013's Pale Green Ghosts (#16), 2015's Grey Tickles, Black Pressure (#5), 2018's Love Is Magic (#17) and 2021's Boy From Michigan (#8).
Following its release on vinyl, Fred Again's USB has skyrocketed this week, climbing 148 places to a new record (#29). The USB also tops the Official Vinyl Album Chart this week, making it the best-selling vinyl of the last seven days.
Benson Boone is also on the rise again, with his debut album, Fireworks & Rollerblades, reaching number 7 and returning him to the Top 40 (number 36).
And finally, Rock & Roll Star!, the expansive posthumous collection that condensed David Bowie's journey from 1971 to the establishment of his Ziggy Stardust persona, earned the icon his 71st Top 40 album (39).
