K-pop girl group Red Velvet has released a new mini album, “Cosmic,” to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the girl group's formation.
Red Velvet released “Cosmic” today (June 24th) and also unveiled the music video for the lead single of the same name. As noted on the music video's outro card, the clip is inspired by the 2019 horror film “Midsommar” and follows the girl group's adventures as they join a rural community.
“Love is cosmic / I'm riding your rhythm / Moving through the solar system / Come with me / You and me, moving through the night / Cosmic love,” the quartet sings on the funky, disco-influenced dance-pop track.
In addition to the title track, the new album includes five new songs: “Sunflower,” “Last Drop,” “Love Arcade,” “Bubble,” and “Night Drive.” [‘Cosmic’s] “With melodies and harmonies as vast as the universe, you'll feel the coolness of a summer night instead of a hot summer day,” member Seulgi said in an interview uploaded by SM Entertainment.
Ahead of the release of “Cosmic,” the girl group also announced their “Happiness: My Dear, ReVe1uv” Asia tour, scheduled for 2024. Red Velvet will kick off this August with a two-night performance in Seoul, before continuing on to Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, and Macau.
