Rainie Wilson acknowledged that Jon Bon Jovi sent her a letter praising her talent.
During an interview with the Bon Jovi frontman, 62, and country singer Jelly Roll, 39, the “It's My Life” hitmaker praised the 32-year-old singer as “the greatest of all time.”
Chatting with Interview magazine, Jerry replied: “Absolutely. Her voice, her work ethic, her personality – everything about her is perfect.”
Jovi continued: “Not only was her performance at MusiCares amazing, but I also saw her performance at Clive. [Davis]She came on with you to perform “Save Me.” You two performed for different audiences that weekend who were just enthralled with you guys and said, 'Wow, look at this talent.'”
And in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rainey said: “That's pretty cool!”
“And he wrote me a little letter! And it had his phone number in it. I thought, 'This might be one of the most amazing moments ever.'”
The two communicated via text message.
She was touched and said, “Well, he cheered me up and encouraged me, and that's definitely something I'm going to write home and tell people.”
Meanwhile, Rainey also shared some sage advice she received from her Go Home WU collaborator Keith Urban, 56.
She said: “Keith has given me the best advice.”
“One day I was really tired and I'd just come off the road and I ran into him on Music Row and he said, 'Lainey, remember there's no whining on a yacht.'
“I wrote it down.
“I was like, 'That's great!' It's true, you know? At the end of the day I might be tired and running through the mud, but I get to wake up every day and do what I love.”
