Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that Princess Anne suffered minor injuries and a concussion after an accident at her country home.

Princess Anne, 73, is the sister of King Charles III and was hospitalised but is expected to make a full recovery. The incident at her Gatcombe Park estate took place on Sunday evening.

“The Princess remains under observation in Southmead Hospital in Bristol as a precautionary measure,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement, adding: “The King is fully aware of the situation and, together with all in the Royal Family, sends her much-loved and well wishes and wishes her a speedy recovery.”

The princess was walking in a protected area of the property when the accident occurred, according to the UK Press Association, with her medical team adding that her head injuries were consistent with being caused by impact with a horse's head or leg, according to the Associated Press.
