Pitbull responds to his song being used in key Bridgerton scene – Music News

Pitbull has endorsed the classic cover of the 2011 song “Give Me Everything” in the film “Bridgerton.”

The fourth episode of the new third season of Netflix's period romance drama ends with a steamy carriage scene starring Luke Newton's Colin Bridgerton and Nicola Coughlan's Penelope Featherington.

The pivotal scene is accompanied by a stripped-down strings version of Pitbull's 2011 dance collaboration with Afrojack, Ne-Yo and Nayyar.

Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Perez, took to Instagram on Tuesday to praise Archer Marsh's orchestral cover and its prominence on the show.

Sharing a clip from the scene, he wrote, “This once again shows the world that music is an international language that transcends borders and that hit songs can stand the test of time. Thank you @bridgertonnetflix and @netflix for this opportunity, Dale!”

The staff who run the official Bridgerton Instagram account responded to the post in the voice of the show's narrator, Lady Whistledown.

“The writer would definitely agree with Lord Worldwide…music says things that words can't express,” they wrote, referring to Pitbull's nickname “Mr. Worldwide.”

The Bridgerton family has become known for transforming modern pop songs into classic instrumental covers to fit the Regency setting: Season 3 covers include BTS' “Dynamite,” Sia and Sean Paul's “Cheap Thrills,” and Billie Eilish's “Happier Than Ever.”

The first half of season 3 was released last week, and fans will have to wait until June 13 to find out what happens after the carriage scene.
