Nicki Minaj apologises to fans after cancelling Manchester show following arrest in Netherlands – Music News

(Cover) – EN News Feature – Nicki Minaj has apologised to fans after her Manchester show was cancelled following her detention in Amsterdam on Saturday.

The rapper was due to perform his Pink Friday 2 live show at the Co-Op Live arena as part of his ongoing UK and European tour, but his arrest in the Netherlands has meant he is unable to attend the concert.

Minaj live-streamed her arrest after being detained by Dutch police on suspicion of drug possession.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, the rapper apologised to fans, revealing that he had arrived in Manchester but was too late to perform.

“Thank you to everyone who prayed for me today. May God protect you and all that pertains to you,” the Anaconda rapper wrote. “May you be blessed beyond imagination.”

She later said she was currently in a hotel in Manchester and had been detained for “five to six hours”, and accused Dutch authorities of deliberately trying to delay the concert in order to cancel it.

“I was in the holding cell for five or six hours and it took 20 minutes for the plane to board and take off,” she fumed. “The flight was 50 minutes. 50 minutes. So they had to make a big fuss because they knew I would find a way to perform even if I was only in the building for 90 minutes, which would be until 11:30 p.m. And they said it was OK if I performed past 11 p.m. and I'm really grateful to them.”

Nicki later apologized to her fans for the cancellation, writing, “Please, please accept my sincere apology. They knew damn well how to hurt me today but this too shall pass.”

Minaj added that she had arrived safely in the UK and another show in Manchester and one in Birmingham would go ahead as planned. The cancelled Manchester show will now take place in June or July, Minaj said.
