MC Conrad death news


It has been confirmed that DNB's legendary MC Conrad has passed away.

The British musician, whose real name is Conrad Thompson, is 52 years old. His death was confirmed by multiple parties, including his family and friends. His cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

MC Conrad was a key figure in the advancement of drum and bass, first breaking into raves as a precocious young man from the Midlands. Blending his Caribbean heritage with new electronic sounds, he channeled jungle into the multifaceted form of his DNB that we know today.

A great MC, his stature seemed to grow even more as time went on. A true legend, LTJ he forged an incredible partnership with Bukem, releasing one seminal anthem after another.

Always interested in music, he produced under his alter ego Con*Natural, in addition to heading Resonance, a digital-first label designed to provide a platform for new talent.

The bass world paused to pay tribute to MC Conrad.
