Magneto's latest single, “Prender El Fuego Otra Vez,” topped this week's poll of best new Latin music releases.
In a poll released Friday (June 14) as part of the weekly New Music Latin roundup and playlists curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors, music fans voted the Mexican boy band's latest track as their favorite music release of the week.
“Prender El Fuego Otra Vez” received more than 45% of the votes, beating out other new releases this week, including Ángela Aguilar's mariachi ballad “Gotitas Saladas,” Mario Bautista's new regional Mexican album “Fenix,” Chino Pacas' latest single “Mami Chula,” Santa Fe Clan and DiMello Flow's “Ya Valió” and pregnancy announcement “Bienvenida” by Samira Zambrano. In second place was Paulo Londra's “Paracaídas,” with 32% of the votes.
After 25 years without releasing new music, the legendary band made up of Elias, Mauri, Alan, Tono and Alex has made their long-awaited return. “Prender El Fuego Otra Vez (Light the Fire Again)” is a tropical ballad that fuses urbano beats with vallenato accordion, heralding the start of their upcoming EP and accompanying tour. Written by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Pedro Capó in collaboration with Frank Santofimio, Gabriel González Pérez, Héctor Montaner Jr. and Rafael Reginalds (Reggi El Auténtico), the song conveys a message of new beginnings and second chances.
Last week, music fans voted for Fayed's latest single, “Sorry 4 That Much,” as their favorite music release, with the song receiving over 65% of the votes.
