Justin Timberlake thanks fans for support after 'tough week' and arrest – Music News

Justin Timberlake spoke about his recent arrest while addressing the crowd at a concert.

Fans were shocked last Tuesday when news broke that the 43-year-old Sexy Back singer had been arrested for drinking alcohol in Sag Harbor, New York.

The star was also issued two tickets for running a red light and failing to maintain lane while driving.

Justin is currently on his 'Forget Tomorrow' world tour and addressed the scandal surrounding him during his concert in Chicago on Friday, while also thanking his fans for supporting him through thick and thin.

In the video that has gone viral online, Justin can be heard saying, “It really touches me. We have a special relationship because we've grown up together. So many people have come up to me and said, 'I grew up with you guys,' and I want you to know that I echo that sentiment. I've grown up with you guys. We've been through the good times and the bad, the ups and downs, we've been through it all together.”

Regarding the controversy, he added: “It's been a tough week. You're here, I'm here, and I can't change this moment.”

He added: “I know sometimes I'm hard to love, but you continue to love me and I love you.”

Justin is due to appear in court on July 26th to face the charges against him.

Edward Burke, a lawyer representing the singer, told the PA news agency last week: “I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake with respect to these charges and will have more to say at the appropriate time, but we are currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney's office.”
