Hallie Biden's testimony reveals further evidence of addiction | Live updates from Fox News Digital

Attorney Abe Lowell attempted to introduce specific text messages between Hallie Biden and Hunter Biden into evidence, confusing the jury and others in the courtroom.

Lowell and his defense team are seeking to introduce new documents into evidence. Leo Wise and the prosecution complain that they were only notified of them at 11:07pm last night, had no time to review them and have no idea where they came from except from the 18,000 pages of data on the laptop.

Lowell and his team seemed to think the government knew everything about the laptop and where everything was. Wise explained that this was not the case, saying the data was going through a filtering team and that the defense team may have texts the government hadn't seen yet.

Wise wants to know where these texts are on the laptop. Judge Noreika peppered the defense with questions about the matter before the jury arrived this morning, a process that lasted nearly 30 minutes. Rowell and his team are rushing to provide this information to the prosecution, but the prosecution said it won't be available today, and Judge Noreika is not willing to wait for anything to move the case forward.

In cross-examination of Harry, Lowell tried to suggest that Hunter lied to Harry when he said he was “waiting for a dealer named Mookie” behind Blue Rocks Stadium on Oct. 13, 2018 (the day after purchasing the gun) and then texted Harry the next day to say he was “sleeping in his car smoking crack cocaine.”

Lowell shared emails from Harry that preceded these two: On the 13th, Harry emailed Hunter, asking, “Why aren't you answering your calls? Where are you? Are you with someone?” Hunter responded with the now infamous email saying he was waiting for a drug dealer named Mookie.

Lowell asked if he thought he was with a dealer or a woman. “A woman,” Harry replied.

Do you know if he was there? “I don't know,” she said.

On October 14, 2018, Harry texted Hunter saying, “I've called you 500 times and you're not picking up. Practice what you preach,” to which Hunter responded with another now-infamous text message alleging he was sleeping in his car and smoking crack cocaine.

“We don't know if he was actually there,” Lowell asked. “Exactly,” Harry replied.

Lowell tried to suggest that Hunter had lied to Harry and had not actually smoked crack cocaine on either date, and therefore may not have been “addicted” to crack cocaine when he purchased the gun on October 12, 2018.

During cross-examination by the defense, Halley appeared confused after Lowell handed her a binder containing text messages between her and Hunter. Halley was only supposed to look through the binder if she couldn't remember specific questions Lowell asked her about her interactions with Hunter in 2018. She occasionally looked through the binder without being prompted.

Lowell often appeared hesitant in his responses, shaking his head slightly as he spoke, before the judge stepped in to explain the legal process.

Harry had no idea when to look in the binder, and when Lowell instructed her to look in the binder, he gave the wrong line number at least twice, adding to the confusion.

The judge gave Lowell a shocked look when he asked if he could read one of Harry's emails.
