With less than a month until the release of Dua Lipa's next album, Radical Optimism, the singer released her summery new single “Illusion'' on Thursday (April 11).

The song's accompanying music video, directed by Tanu Muino, features Lipa performing as a dancer, high diver, and synchronized swimmer at Piscina Municipal de Montjuic in Barcelona, Spain, the location of Kylie Minogue's iconic “Slow” video. He appears alongside the players.

It's a joke and it's fun to play against someone at their own game because ultimately the fantasy Because you won't fall into it.”
“Illusion” is the third single released by the British artist ahead of his upcoming third studio album, “Radical Optimism”, following “Houdini” and “Training Season”. The former debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the latter charted at number 27.
“[Releasing the album] It feels good. I feel like, for lack of a better word, it's fundamentally optimistic,” Lipa previously said before explaining the idea behind the album cover. told Billboard about the upcoming project, which features the singer floating in a wide ocean facing a shark's fin. She says, “Throughout the record there's an idea that there's chaos going on, and I'm trying to push that through in a way that feels authentic and honest to me.”
Regarding the origin of the album's name, Lipa said in a statement announcing Radical Optimism in March, “A few years ago, a friend introduced me to the term “Radical Optimism.'' Ta. “This was a concept that resonated with me, and once I started playing with it and weaving it into my life, I became even more curious.”
The 11-track Radical Optimism is Lipa's first full-fledged LP since 2020's Future Nostalgia, and will be released on May 3rd.
