Country music star hospitalized after heart attack, 'recovery will be tough'

The country music world continues to follow Colt Ford as he recovers in an Arizona hospital after suffering a heart attack after a performance more than two weeks ago.

And while early reports were spooky, fans of the country music singer won't want to miss the latest news. That's because it's pretty promising.

Two weeks after being hospitalized facing a “bleak” outlook, the 54-year-old country music star is reportedly sharing a FaceTime call with friends.

This comes courtesy of Golf Channel analyst Charlie Reimer, who has been keeping fans updated on Ford since the ordeal began.

“I just FaceTimed my kid (Colt Ford),” Reimer posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday. “He looked great considering what he was about to go through. At least it's great for him. He was never pure. Please keep him in your prayers. He faces a tough recovery. Healing, peace, I wish you patience. I will make him laugh. Thank you!

Many of his fans have been sharing their prayers and wishes for Ford since the beginning, and were quick to cheer at this promising report. Ford was reportedly rushed to the hospital after performing at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row Bar in Mesa.

Just over a week ago, Reimer wrote to X that when Ford first entered the hospital, “the chances of survival were grim.”

But late last week, he revealed he had been texting with Ford. And now he said he's FaceTiming with him.

Ford, who has worked closely with the likes of Toby Keith, Jamey Johnson and Jason Aldean, has also had health issues. Last year, Taste of Country reported that he was battling the autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis.

He also reportedly had eye cancer and had to undergo surgery three years ago to treat it.

So, needless to say, Ford is a tough guy.

Ford, whose real name is Jason Farris Brown, is a former professional golfer. He has released eight studio albums to date, his first album was released in 2008 and his latest, Must Be Country, was released in 2023.
