As East Tennessee State University's men's golf team prepares to compete for a fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship, it's in the spotlight after the university's social media accounts published footage of a Delta Airlines employee tossing the team's golf bags.
The ETSU X golf account posted a video Tuesday showing airline employees tossing the team's golf bags after they arrived.

“It's great to see Delta treat our club so well…” the post read.

Several users on social media lamented similar issues with the airline, with Delta's social media accounts responding to some of the comments.
Delta Air Lines posted a message in direct response to the team's video, which had been viewed 9 million times as of Thursday afternoon.
“We are extremely sorry that your golf clubs were treated in this way. This is not how we operate,” the statement read. “We are working to rectify the situation so that you have everything you need to compete in this weekend's tournament.”

The ETSU Buccaneers finished second at the Chapel Hill Regional Tournament earlier this month, clinching a spot in the NCAA Championships for the fourth consecutive year.
This will also be the men's team's 21st appearance.

The national tournament is scheduled to begin Friday at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
Six individuals and 30 teams will compete in a 54-hole round, with only the top 15 teams and top nine individuals progressing to the next stage.
