Camila Cabello will release her new album “C,XOXO'' next month.
The “Havana” hitmaker has revealed the release date and secret art for her fourth solo album, her first since “Familia” in 2022. Her album featured a close-up photo of her face licking her blue lollipop.
When she announced the news on Instagram, she simply wrote, “New album C, XOXO will be released on June 28th (sic).”
The LP will include her latest single “I Luv It” featuring Playboi Carti.
While fans are still waiting for the tracklist and solid details about the record, Camila recently opened up about her approach when creating a collection of songs.
She said on the podcast Call Her Daddy:
“I feel strong in this way and weak in this way, but there is no clear answer.''
However, she has embraced the process as a “journey”, and for her next album, it meant rediscovering what sparked her passion for songwriting in the first place.
She added: “But the process of making the album was such a long journey.
“It started with me having the intention to go back to my roots, to sit down with myself and really get back to my original passion for songwriting.
“I look up references, artists, poems, whatever, and really put that to use.”
Camila also teased the “hyperfemme” persona she utilized for the album.
In an interview with Paper magazine, she said: “6 months [into recording]I sang a few songs, [I realised]”Oh, this is a character.”
“It became a persona that I tapped into. It was me, but definitely a hyper-female version of me.
”[I started to ask:] What is the color palette of the world this character lives in? What is her hair? What is it like taking photos there? ”
