Camila Cabello has revealed that she lost her virginity to life coach Matthew Hussey when she was 20 years old.
The Havana singer, now 27, revealed on Monday on Dax Shepard's podcast, “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard,” that her romance with the 36-year-old British dating expert was her first real relationship.
Recalling meeting him on the set of the Today show in February 2018, Camila said: “I was outside where the scripted TV was, and I had actually listened to his podcast earlier. I had been listening to his podcast for a while as a fan, and I saw his podcast for dating, and I thought, “Oh my god, I'm a huge fan,'' so we went to dinner that night. It was my first relationship.”
Sharing her worries about dating, she continued: “The first time, it was slow…I was like, 'Oh my god. I've never had a boyfriend.'” There were literally eight songs[I wrote]and I was basically lonely, I was so It felt like loneliness. ”
When Dax asked her if she'd ever had sex before, she said bluntly, “No. It was the first time I had sex. The first time I had sex was when I was 20 or 21…it was literally sex. It was beautiful. ” he answered.
The former Fifth Harmony star added that Matthew's life coaching skills made him a “great partner” during their 2018-2019 relationship.
“He was such a great guy. It was like the perfect first relationship,” she praised. “He wasn't even in my industry, so it really expanded my world. 'Oh my god, have you seen Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown? And I saw a Studio Ghibli movie. He really expanded on my references. ”
Camilla also offered her congratulations, noting that Matthew is now married to Audrey Le Strutt, who she married in October 2023.
