Ali Mishalka is a first-time mother.
The Aly & AJ musician and actress revealed to People magazine on Monday that she and husband Steven Ringer welcomed their son, Jack Francis, into the world on April 21, two weeks before his due date.
“It was a very calm and peaceful birth, exactly how we hoped,” Allie, 35, told the outlet. “He's such an amazing boy. He's got such a special personality.”
After 50 hours of labor, including six hours of contractions, Allie gave birth to Jack at home in Santa Barbara, California, with the support of Steven, a midwife and two doulas.
“It was absolutely amazing. It was exactly how we imagined it would be,” she added of the birth. “We knew right away, 'Oh yes, he's Jack.'”
The couple named their son Francis after Allie's late grandfather, but Francis is a Ringer family name.
After spending the first week relaxing in bed with Jack, the “Potential Breakup Song” hitmaker returned to the studio to continue working on the upcoming Aly & AJ album with her sister.
“He adapted really well to the change. He's really been a little chameleon in that sense. And I think we were lucky with the fact that he didn't have any major sleep issues,” the “Easy A” actress said of bringing Jack into the studio.
Ally began dating film producer Steven in 2013 and married him in 2015.
