2024 Aotearoa Music Awards nominees announced


Avandale Bowling Club's Stan Walker and Tom Scott are leading the way at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards with a significant number of nominations each.

Walker secured nominations in five categories, including Best Solo Artist and Best Maori Artist. His work, which often incorporates Te Reo Māori, has also been recognized as a Te Mangai Paho Mana Reo Award winner. Walker also competed in major categories such as Album of the Year and Single of the Year.

Tom Scott, a key figure in Aotearoa's hip-hop scene, has also received an impressive eight nominations thanks to his work at both Avandale Bowling Club and Home Brew.

Power-pop favorites The Beths are also notable nominees, having been nominated for three awards, including Best Group, and facing stiff competition from the likes of Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Tiny Ruins. ing.

The Aotearoa Music Awards will return after a hiatus in 2023, with a new format promised this year. The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 30th at the Viaduct Event Center in Auckland. The event will be live-streamed, allowing fans and supporters at home and abroad to celebrate New Zealand's musical achievements.
