Stevie Nicks will be performing a musical tribute to Tom Petty and Christine McVie at her Hyde Park show this Friday (24/07/12) BST.
The 76-year-old singer performed a duet with Petty at a festival in London just months before his death in October 2017 at the age of 66.
Nicks will headline the show and perform “Stop Draggin' My Heart Around,” a song the pair recorded together for her debut solo album, “Bella Donna,” in 1981, and which Stevie also performed with Petty seven years earlier.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “It was the last time Stevie saw Tom and now she'll be back on the same stage so it's sure to be a very emotional experience.”
During the encore, Nicks will perform “Landslide” while a montage of her late Fleetwood Mac bandmates is shown on screen.
Following McVie's death at the age of 79 in November 2022, Nicks has maintained that Fleetwood Mac will never perform live again.
In a recent interview with MOJO magazine, she said: “When Christine passed away, I felt like I could never replace her. I really couldn't. What would happen without her? You know what I mean?”
“There's no chance of Fleetwood Mac ever getting back together. It just wouldn't work without her.”
Stevie's BST Hyde Park show came after he was forced to cancel some tour dates due to a leg injury.
The “Edge of Seventeen” singer was due to perform at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland last Saturday (06.07.24) but was forced to cancel the concert entirely, as well as his show at Manchester's Co-op Live Arena scheduled for Tuesday (09.07.24).
The OVO Hydro account posted to X: “Due to a recent leg injury requiring minor surgery with several days of recovery, Stevie Nicks' Glasgow show on Saturday July 6th and Manchester show on Tuesday July 9th have been postponed.”
“More details will be provided at the time of purchase. Ticket holders are advised to hold on to their tickets. A rescheduled date will be announced soon. Stevie looks forward to seeing everyone in London's Hyde Park.”
