The search has ended for a man believed to have been armed with a crossbow who murdered three women, identified as BBC commentator John Hunt's wife and two daughters, inside a suburban home in north London on Wednesday.
Hertfordshire Police said 26-year-old Kyle Clifford had been identified as a suspect in the triple murder, which is believed to have involved a crossbow or other weapon.
After an extensive search, police tracked Clifford down to the Enfield area of north London.
Clifford was found injured and is currently receiving medical treatment, police said, adding that no shots were fired by officers.
“Wide range of [inquiries]”A suspect has been identified and there are no other people currently being sought in connection with this investigation,” Detective Constable Justin Jenkins, of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said. “Investigations are progressing at a rapid pace and the victim has yet to be formally identified. The premature release of the potential victim's name has caused great upset for her family, at a time when they should have had time to come to terms with their sudden death.”

The investigation led detectives to believe Clifford knew the victim.
The BBC confirmed the victims were Carol Hunt, wife of BBC commentator John Hunt, and her two daughters, aged 25, 28 and 61, police said.
John Hunt, a BBC radio horse racing commentator who has covered the world-famous Grand National and Derby races, had just returned home from a report from Lingfield Park racecourse in south London on Tuesday evening when he discovered the body, British media said.
Emergency personnel and police rushed to the scene to help the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
