'Roll Up Your Sleeves!' Queens of the Stone Age Announce Update on Next Album – Music News


Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has admitted that he doesn't intend to wait another six years to release his next album.

The rock band released their eighth studio album, In Times New Roman…, last year, following 2017's Villains. [his] They did away with the “album sleeve” because there was “too” big a gap between their latest albums.

“There was too much time between the last album and this one,” he said on the Dish podcast.

“The goal is to make things and have fun in the process, so I'm going to roll up my sleeves and dive into this.”

Josh also praised Dave Grohl for helping him with his career, admitting the Foo Fighters frontman is like a “brother” to him.

He added: “Nobody in my career has been more of an advocate for telling people, 'You need to listen to this guy.'”

“He definitely told the world about me and my endless talent. He was always like a brother to me.”

Queens Of The Stone Age, who headlined this year's Download Festival, hinted in June that they had a “hidden card” but admitted that they would be embarking on a “bit of a break” first.

Speaking to NME about their plans after Download and the rest of the year's shows, guitarist Troy van Leeuwen said: “I'm going to bed! I think I'm going to take a bit of a break.”

“I understand there are some plans being vaguely discussed for next year.”

Drummer John Theodore adds: “We definitely have an ace up our sleeve, so to speak…”
