Livelihood Music Company Announces JKash and Michael Pollack as Presidents

Independent music publisher Livelihood Music Co. has added hitmakers Jacob “JKash” Kasher Hindlin (Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night,” Maroon 5’s “Sugar” and “Memories”) and Michael Pollack (Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” Maroon 5’s “Memories,” Justin Bieber’s “Ghost”) to its team as principals. As part of their roles, JKash and Pollack will serve as owners and actively participate in the growing publishing house. The company also named Wendy Christiansen its new president, responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations.

Livlihood quietly began signing songwriters in 2020, adding talent such as Jack & Coke, Ryan, Kid I and Elof Roelf to its roster. Artists already signed to Livlihood have worked on hits such as “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims, “Calm Down” by Rema and Selena Gomez and “You Broke Me First” by Tate McRae, and have collaborated with Maroon 5, Charlie Puth, Jason Derulo, Marshmello, Charlie XCX, Thomas Rhett, The Chainsmokers, Ava Max, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Nick Jonas, among others.

Livelihood is led by founder and CEO Liz Newmark, a veteran attorney, and is supported on the A&R side by songwriter/producer management company Nonstop Management, led by manager/executive Jaime Zeluck Hindlin (JKash and Pollack are also managed by the Nonstop team).

“Becoming President of Livelihood was a natural fit for me,” said Christiansen. “I was drawn to the company's unwavering commitment to hands-on development and dedication to supporting songwriters at every stage of their careers. Joining forces with hit songwriters like JKash and Michael Pollack only strengthens my belief in Livelihood's mission to prioritize the songwriter's path.”

“I couldn't be more excited to build Livelihood into the next great independent music publisher,” said Pollack. “Our leadership team is comprised of both experienced executives and working songwriters and producers, so clients will benefit from our services while also having the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from experienced hit-makers. Of course, JKash has been and will continue to be the best in the industry at producing, discovering and orchestrating hit songs, and I'm so grateful to be part of such an incredible team with such an already incredible cast of people.”

“I founded the company to establish a community of songwriters who mentor other songwriters,” says Newmark. “In addition to fostering creativity through this approach, we are committed to encouraging songwriters to understand the business aspects that impact their careers.”
