John Stones: 'I love the feel of house music' – News

England footballer John Stones has spoken about his love of house music in a new interview with BBC 5 Live Sport ahead of the Euro 2024 final.

The England centre-back, who also plays for Manchester City, spoke to members of the England national team on the Football Daily Podcast about how he listens to music on match days.

“I'll give you the song I listen to on the bus. It's 'Yamoa' by Mobrak,” Stones said when asked about the song he's listening to on repeat. He added, “It's also house music. I love house music. I love that vibe.”

Speaking previously to Manchester City TV, the Stones ranked artists from their favourite to least favourite, with musicians such as Calvin Harris and Oasis ranking high on the list.

In an interview with BBC 5 Live Sport, other England players were also asked about the songs they're listening to during training camp, with their picks including Isla Starr, Lil Baby and Thames.

In an interview, Kieran Trippier spoke about the music that is often heard backstage on match days. “I'm not the music guy,” he said.

“But there's one song that Jordan Pickford plays, and Pickford loves rave music,” Trippier says. “Pickford's music is awful.”

Pickford's love of dance music is no secret: he has previously created playlists for shows like Radio 1 Dance with Danny Howard, selecting “house party” tracks from the likes of Sammy Verge, Ewan McVicar, Honey Dijon and Boo.

The England goalkeeper also created a pre-match playlist, featuring tunes from DJs such as Ultrabeat, Armand van Helden and Gigi D'Agostino, in a recent feature for Soccer Bible.
