Joe Jonas has announced that his second solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, will be released on October 18th via Republic Records.
The singer, who began his career as one-third of the Jonas Brothers and went on to success in side band DNCE, is set to release the album's first single, “Work It Out,” this Friday. He's been teasing the song for the past month, debuting snippets of it during a podcast appearance and performing it live at the Jonas Brothers' Calgary Stampede show last weekend.
“I'm excited to share my new solo album, Music For People Who Believe In Love,” Jonas said in a statement. “The album is a celebration of gratitude, hope and love. These songs reflect on my life from a bird's-eye view while acknowledging the many blessings that surround me.”
Jonas says the album was inspired by fatherhood, friendship and happiness. “This album is a reflection and celebration of life,” he says. “I hope you feel as much joy in it as I did in making it. I hope you enjoy it!”
The 34-year-old released his debut solo album, “Fastlife,” in October 2011. The album debuted at number 15 on the Billboard 200 but then dropped in the rankings, and the lead single, “See No More,” only peaked at number 92 on the Hot 100.
Outside of the Jonas Brothers, he formed the band DNCE in 2015 and released two EPs and an album of the same name, the latter of which was released in 2016 and debuted at number 17 on the Hot 100 and spawned the hit “Cake by the Ocean”, which reached number 9 on the Hot 100.
More recently, he reteamed with brothers Nick and Kevin on the Jonas Brothers' “The Album,” released last year.

“I am excited to share with you my new solo album, 'Music for People Who Believe in Love.' This album celebrates gratitude, hope and love. These songs reflect my life from a bird's-eye view while acknowledging the many blessings that surround me.”
I hope that if we take a moment to breathe, pause, and think positively, we can embrace this moment and ultimately find peace. It's okay to cry and mourn your loss; it's part of the process of taking care of yourself and ultimately being able to be there for those you care about.
This album talks about being a father, being a friend to myself and others, and the happiness I find in doing what I love for a living. I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to travel the world and connect with people through music, as well as working with some of the most talented musicians, songwriters and producers on this project.
A director I once worked with would place a handwritten note above the camera while we were filming: “What do you want the audience to feel?” This question still resonates with me every time I step on stage and write new music. The ability to perform, connect deeply with an audience, and evoke positive emotions and even healing is a gift I cherish.
This album is a reflection and celebration of life, and I hope it brings you as much joy as I did making it. I hope you enjoy it.
With love and gratitude
Joe”
