Three shootings occurred in Manatee County, Florida, on Monday, leaving three women dead, including the shooter's mother. After a man was shot during a standoff with authorities, sheriff's deputies learned he was heading to Georgia to carry out a fourth shooting.
Suspect Javonte Bryce, 28, was shot and killed at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after opening fire on Hamilton County Sheriff's Office officers, Fox 13 Tampa reported.
About four hours earlier, Manatee County sheriff's deputies responded to the Motel 6 at 660 67th Street Circle East in Bradenton, where they found a 48-year-old woman dead from a gunshot wound. Witnesses told police the victim's son, Bryce, came to the motel, shot his mother and fled the scene, the outlet reported.

At 9:40 p.m., police responded to another shooting in the 900 block of 26th Street Court East in Palmetto, where Palmetto police were attempting to rescue a 29-year-old woman who was in a vehicle. She died about an hour later. Witnesses at the scene again identified Bryce as the shooter.

While police were investigating the other two shootings, Brice was identified as the suspect in a separate attack that occurred just after 10 p.m. at 4800 55th Street West in Bladentown. After shooting the woman, Brice fled the scene and later died at a local hospital.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office issued a statewide BOLO for Brice's vehicle and multiple agencies worked together to track him down near the state line in Hamilton County, Fox 13 reported. According to the outlet, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office determined Brice was plotting to kill a fourth person in Georgia before he was stopped by police near the state line.
