Eminem outsells rivals 3:1 with 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)' – Music News



Eminem is on track to score his 11th official number one album this week with “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace).”

The Detroit rapper has outsold his nearest rival by more than three times as much as of midweek, and lead single “Houdini” is on track to return to the top of the Official Singles Chart for a third consecutive week.

Eminem can already boast ten official number one albums in the UK in a career spanning 25 years: The Marshall Mathers LP (2000), The Eminem Show (2002), Encore (2004), Curtain Call: The Hits (2005), Relapse (2009), Recovery (2010), The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (2013), Revival (2017), Kamikaze (2018) and Music to Be Murdered By (2020).

Other new top five entries include Travis being predicted to receive his highest-ranked LP in 23 years with the LA Times (No. 2). It could be the Glaswegian rockers' 10th top 10 album, following Good Feeling (1997), The Man Who (1999), Invisible Band (2001), 12 Memories (2003), hits collection Singles (2004), The Boy With No Name (2007), Where You Stand (2013), Everything at Once (2016) and 10 Songs (2020).

Hertfordshire born singer-songwriter Griff is looking to secure his second Top 10 Albums chart entry with his debut studio album, Vertigo (3), while Streatham native Cat Barnes could secure her first Top 10 Albums chart entry with her debut LP, early twoties (4).

Cigarettes After Sex are poised to achieve a career high with their first album in five years, X's (5). The Texas trio enjoyed Official Albums Chart success with their 2017 debut Cigarettes After Sex (27) and their 2019 release Cry (36).

John Lennon's 1973 album “Mind Games” could reach a new peak position this week after being reissued on multiple formats, currently sitting at No. 10. The record peaked at No. 13 upon its original release 51 years ago.

Atlanta-born singer-songwriter Clairo is aiming for her first Top 40 album with her third studio album, Charm (2012), and New York-born Cassandra Jenkins is making a similar attempt with My Light, My Destroyer (2015).

Teddy Swims' debut, I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1), is expected to bounce back into the Top 40 (#28) from #31 with the release of new single “Funeral,” while OneRepublic is gunning for their sixth Top 40 album with Artificial Paradise (#29).

Finally, Liverpool rock band Stone, consisting of Finn Power, Sara Salage, Elliot Gill and Alex Smith, are aiming for an Official Albums Chart debut with Fear Life for a Lifetime (number 38).
