CNN senior political commentator Van Jones has warned that TV personality and model Amber Rose's speech in support of former President Trump at the Republican National Convention was the “most dangerous speech” the Democratic Party has ever given.

The commentator expressed concern about the fact that Rose, a mainstream celebrity and a person of color, spoke at the Republican National Convention, suggesting that she was appealing to liberals who may be unhappy with Democratic policies.

“It was probably the most dangerous speech for the Democratic coalition,” Jones said of Rose's speech during coverage of the first day of the convention in Milwaukee.

In her speech at the Republican National Convention, Rose told the story of her own political transformation, describing how she went from thinking Trump was a “racist” to supporting his cause.

The model, who once dated rapper Kanye West, detailed how her father, a Trump supporter, challenged her to step away from the media and look into the former president's words and policies. She took up the challenge and became a Trump fan.

“I realized that Donald Trump and his supporters don't care if you're black or white, gay or straight, it's all about love. And I realized that these are my people. This is where I belong,” she said in her speech.

“This is a young woman of color, and she's speaking to a feeling that a lot of people have, that if there are too many liberals, they'll be criticized too much, or they might not be able to speak their mind, and she expressed that really well,” Jones said.

Of the rest of the CNN panel, he added, “And she's way more famous than anybody here. Way more famous, to be honest.”

“And as far as these guys are trying to break up our union, it really was a bunker buster.”

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper also spoke about the effectiveness of Rose's speech, responding to Jones, “This is one of the things we've been talking about: some speakers speak to the floor, some speak through a television screen. She speaks to the audience at home through a camera.”

Rose first voiced her support for Trump in May, posting a photo of herself on social media in a bikini and MAGA hat, as well as sharing a photo of a meeting between Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump.

When asked about her newfound pro-Trump stance at the time, she told TMZ, “Doesn't Donald Trump support women's rights issues? He's trying to make America great again, and that means women.”

“We just did our research and we're not being brainwashed by the left anymore,” she added.
