Who is Kai Trump? Donald Trump's granddaughter speaks at the Republican National Convention

Donald J. Trump is often referred to as “President Trump” or “Mister President,” and has previously been referred to as “Commander in Chief,” “POTUS,” and “45” because he was the 45th President of the United States. He also holds several other notable titles.

But before he became leader of the free world, Trump was affectionately known as “Dad” by his five children — Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany and Barron — and “Grandpa” by his 10 grandchildren, starting with his eldest son, Kai.

The 17-year-old appears poised to step into the spotlight of American politics, as he is set to speak on the third day of the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, President Trump's pick for vice president, will also be a focus of attention tonight.

The daughter of the recently divorced Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump was Dana White's guest of honour at the UFC 303 bout she attended in person with her father. The Florida teenager posed for photos with A-listers including UFC president White, former NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers and country music star Jelly Roll.

Kai, born on May 12, 2007, is an avid golfer. She is active on social media and regularly posts about her golfing prowess.

Last year, the Florida native launched her YouTube channel and she launched an awareness social media page with videos titled “Get to Know Kai Trump!”

“It's going to be a fun channel overall,” Kai said in the video.

As Kai races around the golf course, his friends ask him questions and he tells viewers about some of his favorite things, including Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes, prosciutto and ricotta, pickleball and tennis.

In March, Kai won the Women's Club Championship at the private Trump Golf Club in West Palm Beach. She has previously posted photos and videos of herself playing with pro golfer and PGA player Bryson DeChambeau.

Kai weaves his fitness videos together while reminding social media users that he's an unquestioning supporter of his grandfather.

On Saturday, while addressing supporters at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Trump was shot by a lone gunman on a nearby rooftop. He was shot in the ear and then escorted off the stage by Secret Service agents.

Before being taken away, the former president was recorded raising his fist and yelling at the crowd, “Fight, fight, fight!”

Kai took to Instagram to pay tribute to his grandfather's unwavering will to fight the US political system for his people: “Grandpa, we love you. Never stop fighting!” he wrote.

In mid-June, Kai was among tens of thousands of attendees at Turning Point USA's Leadership Summit event hosted by Charlie Kirk in Detroit, where she was photographed with former President Trump Don Jr. and his 15-year-old brother, Don III.

Trump will return to Detroit on Saturday with Vance to hold his first campaign rally as an official Republican candidate for 2024. The rally will be held indoors.

Kai's other siblings are Tristan, Spencer and Khloe.

Adele has announced that she will be taking a “major break” from music after her upcoming shows.

The “Set Fire to the Rain” singer, 36, who has performed weekend residencies in Las Vegas for the past two years, will begin a 10-date run in Munich, Germany, in August.

After her residency ends, Adele said she wants to take some time off from the music industry to pursue other creative projects.

“At the moment my energy tank is empty. I have no plans for new music whatsoever,” Adele told German broadcaster ZDF.

The Grammy winner continued, “Once all of this is over, I want to take a big break and just do some other creative things for a little while.”

“I actually never sing at home,” she added. “Isn't that strange?”

Adele admitted that while her sold-out show at the 4,000-capacity Caesars Palace was a success, it also took a toll on her health.

“Even though the audience size was very small, it was a really emotional interaction,” she said of the show.

The British singer's resident show, “Weekend with Adele,” has been running at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas since November 2022 and is due to finish in November this year.

“I'm sure I'll feel that way after every show in Munich, but it's a positive thing. It's really an exchange of energy.”

The “Hello” singer also said she misses her life before she became a global celebrity. “I miss everything before I was famous, but I think I miss being unknown the most,” she said.

“I'm happy that I can make music whenever I want and people accept it and like it, which is really inconceivable. But I absolutely hate the fame aspect of it.”

She continued, “The fact that people are interested in my songs and my voice is pretty wild. I don't think it'll ever be the norm, so it's worth having a balance.”

25 killed in bus crash at popular tourist destination in mountainous area, investigation continues

At least 25 people were killed and 17 injured when a tourist bus skidded off a road and plummeted 650 feet down a slope in Peru.

“The area is difficult to access for emergency services,” highway patrol chief Johnny Rolando Valderrama told AFP. The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.

Mayor Valderrama said the bus overturned and rolled down a slope around dawn, Reuters reported, lamenting that it was the first such accident to occur on the Los Libertadores highway in the Andes.

Police officials later told state news agency Andina that 42 passengers were on board the bus and that police had confirmed the whereabouts of all of them. Ground transport regulator SUTRAN later issued a statement identifying the owner of the bus as Turismo Molina Union SAC and opening an investigation into the company.

According to AFP, there were more than 87,000 crashes in Peru, killing more than 3,000 people, and around 70% of the crashes were due to “human factors”.

Daddy Yankee quietly sells masters to Thank Music, vinyl releases to come

Billboard has learned that reggaeton star Daddy Yankee sold some of his master recordings to Thank Music and its financial partners around 2021, laying the groundwork for Thank to reissue his 2004 breakout album “Barrio Fino” and five other LPs on vinyl later this year.

Sank declined to disclose any details of the purchase to Billboard, and no other information about the transaction was available. The sale of some of Daddy Yankee's master recordings was confirmed by multiple independent sources but was not reported at the time.

According to sources, Daddy Yankee retains ownership of his publishing catalog, which is managed worldwide by Sony Music Publishing. In the United States, Spirit Music manages several of Daddy Yankee's songs, including the hit “Gasolina.”

A major acquisition has been hinted at for several years: In 2021, Jason Peterson, chairman and CEO of Cinq Music's parent company GoDigital Media Group, told Billboard that the company had acquired “the largest and most culturally significant” Latin music catalog, without disclosing the names of the artists.

ThankMusic and Daddy Yankee have worked together in various capacities over the years, and in 2018 ThankMusic partnered with Janet Jackson to release the single “Made For Now,” featuring Daddy Yankee. Since 2017, ThankMusic, headed by Barry Daffern, has raised $410 million in music acquisition funding, including $250 million secured in February. After its latest round of funding, the company said it now manages $300 million in assets across 80,000 recorded music and publishing rights.

Cinq Music has broken its silence about its involvement with Daddy Yankee's catalog, announcing on Monday that to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Barrio Fino and “Gasolina,” it will release a bhangra remix of the song by Tesher on July 26. According to a press release, the remix will be featured on the cover of a number of playlists on the music streaming platform, as well as on Spotify-branded outdoor billboards in Mexico City.

“Barrio Fino” and two other albums, “El Cangri.com” (2002) and the compilation album “Los Homerun-es” (2003), will be reissued on vinyl by Cinq Music on August 16th. Three more albums, “El Cartel: The Big Boss” (2007), the “Talento de Barrio” soundtrack (2008) and “Mundial” (2010), will be reissued on vinyl on November 15th.

“Gasolina” reached No. 32 on Billboard's multi-genre Hot 100 singles chart in 2005, No. 10 on the U.S. Hot Rap Songs chart, and No. 11 on the U.S. Rhythmic Airplay chart. Billboard cited the song's “unforgettable hook” and “revolutionary” beat when ranking it No. 22 on its 2020 list of the Top 50 Greatest Latin Songs of All Time.

Ironically, “Gasolina” never reached number one on the Hot Latin Songs chart, only peaking at number 17. Although the song was a breakthrough for Daddy Yankee and helped bring reggaeton to a wider market, its chart success was limited due to the fact that few radio stations played reggaeton at the time.

Barrio Fino was the first reggaeton album to debut at number one on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart (July 31, 2004) and won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Music Album in 2005. The album spent 24 weeks at number one on Top Latin Albums and an astounding 358 weeks on the chart in total. On the multi-genre Billboard 200, Barrio Fino peaked at number 26 in 2005 and stayed on the chart for 54 weeks. To date, the album has sold 2.2 million equivalent albums in the United States, according to Luminate.

PITTSBURGH – David Jake Duch, one of two victims seriously wounded in a shooting at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, walked through the auditorium holding a T-shirt over his wound until he called for help, friends told Fox News Digital.

Duch, a Marine Corps veteran of Operation Desert Storm in 1991, was shot twice at a Trump rally — once in the abdomen and once in the liver, according to people who knew him at the American Legion and Veterans Association lodge in Lower Burrell.

“He's given a lot to this club,” VFW Commander Lee Johnson told Fox News Digital. “He's involved in several activities of the club. I'm really sorry for David and his wife. They're great people. They've been members here for a long time.”

Johnson added that all members wish Duch a speedy recovery.

Johnson said he did not have details on the 57-year-old Marine veteran's recovery or full condition, but he was clearly showing signs of responding on Tuesday.

Another VFW member described Duch as a “great guy” who loved his country and former President Trump, and said it had been his dream for many years to attend the rally.

Duch, who works for Siemens Innomotics in the Pittsburgh area, was described by other friends in the American Legion as a quiet man who embraced his military service with humility.

“If you didn't know he was a Marine, you'd never know,” Roger Milliron Jr., who said he'd known Duch for 20 years, told Fox News Digital. “He's not a loud or boisterous person. He's not a social butterfly, he's a hard worker. He's a friend.”

The morning after the rally, as the legion opened, Milliron and his friends were chatting at a bar when he shared the news about Duch.

“And then I told everybody here what happened and it went from cheerful conversation to total silence,” Milliron said.

Stephen Penn said Dutch loved his country so much that he would give the shirt off his back for anyone.

“He'll talk to anybody. He's a really good guy,” Penn said, adding that it was a “shock” to everyone at the American Legion lodge that Duch was among the victims injured at the rally.

Both lodges are collecting donations for Dutch.

“Our post stands with him 100 percent in supporting his family in every way,” Penn said.

Pennsylvania State Police identified the other victim injured at the rally as James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania.

State police also identified the victim who was shot and killed Saturday while trying to protect his wife and daughters from gunfire as Corey Comperatore, 50, a volunteer firefighter from Buffalo Township.

Federal authorities are still investigating the motive behind the shooter, Thomas Crooks, attempting to assassinate President Trump.

Country music legend announces return to stage after near-death experience earlier this year

Less than a month after undergoing emergency heart surgery, country music legend Mark Chesnutt has announced he will be returning to the stage.

The 60-year-old posted a flyer on Instagram announcing his appearance at Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama on October 9th for a show featuring “The Songs and Stories of Dean Dillon.”

Fans were excited by the announcement, but also offered some caution.

“Mark please go out there fully prepared,” one person wrote. “We will always be there for you but I hope you stay healthy so we can be together for many more years to come. I have been your fan for 30 years this year and I gave you a photo from our 30th anniversary in Arkansas a few months ago. God bless you Mark.”

“Wow!! To be back on tour so soon!!” another wrote. “Awesome, Mark!! Can't keep a good man down!!”

Chestnut has only been active on Instagram since he was rushed into hospital in June and underwent quadruple bypass surgery, and just a week ago he promised to return soon.

“It feels amazing to sing 2 notes of one of my songs and then the crowd goes wild!,” he wrote alongside a short video clip from the concert. “I'm at home resting and recovering but can't wait to sing with my band and fans again!”

This post wasn't the first time he's spoken to fans on Instagram since his surgery.

“Hey guys, the doctors told me I have a new heart!” Chestnut previously wrote. “I am recovering comfortably at home with my family. I sat on the porch today and enjoyed the sun and beautiful Texas weather. But I can't wait to get back to playing guitar and singing with all of my beloved fans! Thank you all for your encouragement and prayers. They helped me in my time of need and have meant the world to me. I'm so grateful for you all. See you soon!”

Chesnutt's health scare comes just months after he was forced to cancel two shows in November of last year, with a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account at the time saying he was “admitted to a local hospital undergoing a medical examination.”

Chesnutt rose to stardom in the early '90s, releasing numerous albums and hit songs, including 20 that reached the top 10 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. Eight of those 20 songs, “Brother Jukebox,” “It Sure Is Monday,” “I'll Think of Something,” “I Just Wanted You to Know,” “Gonna Get a Life,” “Almost Goodbye,” “I Don't Want to Miss a Thing” and “It's a Little Too Late,” all reached No. 1 on the charts.

EXCLUSIVE: BETHEL PARK, Pa. – A former classmate of attempted assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks says the 20-year-old gunman once mocked his support for former President Donald Trump and held contempt for mainstream politicians in general.

“I brought up the fact that I'm Hispanic and, you know, I support Trump, and he said, 'You're Hispanic, so shouldn't you hate Trump?'” Vincent Taormina told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “No. He's a great man. He's been a great president. And he called me stupid, or insinuated that I was stupid.”

It happened, he said, during a discussion in English class during the 2016 election campaign, when Trump, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders were all still campaigning.

“He didn't like our politicians, especially that we had a choice,” Taormina said. “He didn't like our politicians.”

According to Taormina, Crookes was generally quiet, except on certain subjects that he seemed to be passionate about, such as mathematics and politics, and on those subjects he could become “vain”. [and] “Arrogant,” he added.

“He hated our politicians.”

“He spoke and acted as if he knew everything, especially when it came to politics, and he said it in a tone that was almost like, 'I'm better than you,'” he said.

He also denied reports that Crooks was a complete loner: He said that while Crooks had a group of friends, they were small and concerning.

“They were definitely the type of people who would threaten to shoot up our school,” he said.

He and other classmates suspected that Crooks himself was behind the threats, though he said they had no hard evidence, but after the threats arrived, the would-be assassin didn't return to school for several days.

Authorities said Crooks, 20, killed 50-year-old father-of-two Corey Comperatore and severely injured David Duch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74. Crooks struck the former president in the right ear.

Authorities said a Secret Service counter-sniper “neutralized” Crooks at the scene, and images showed him dead on a rooftop less than 150 yards from where Trump was speaking.

Taormina said Crooks' attitude changed after the rumors started spreading: He became quieter and stopped confronting people about politics.

But he had enough friends that someone must have noticed the warning signs, Taormina argued.

“Anyone who knew him should have noticed something,” he said. “They should have realized something was going on. I know it's easy to hide, but people will clean up their act before doing something bold and drastic. Did nobody notice it? Why?”

Authorities say Crooks has no criminal history and no record of mental illness. The murder weapon was legally purchased by his father in 2013.

The federal investigation into his motives and potential collaborators is ongoing, with the FBI analyzing his laptop, cellphone and rifle and interviewing dozens of witnesses.

A search of the suspect's home and vehicle concluded Sunday night. The FBI also said it had interviewed about 100 witnesses, including law enforcement officials, by Monday afternoon.

BUTLER, Pa. – Butler County Executive Thomas Knights defended local police response to the assassination attempt on former President Trump at a rally Saturday.

Knights' comments come amid a controversy between the United States Secret Service (USSS) and the Fraternal Order of Police. Federal and local law enforcement have come under public criticism for failing to stop an assassination attempt on President Trump before he opened fire, but Knights said those tensions have not “spilled over” to Butler.

“I think there's been a misunderstanding of the overall response. I can only speak to the fact that police officers who were primarily tasked with assisting with traffic control have been shifted to responding to suspicious persons,” the mayor, who oversees all of Butler County's department chiefs, including the police chief, said in an interview with Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

“I believe our police officers did what they were taught in their training. … How the events unfolded after that is another objective of mine, which is to have a really thorough report on this incident and let everybody know.”

Knights added that to his knowledge, the USSS has not been in “direct contact” with Butler officials.

“Interviews are ongoing with all officers involved in the incident, regardless of role, so we're just waiting for that information to be compiled into one public report,” he explained.

In the assassination attempt, former volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore, 50, was shot and killed while trying to shield his wife and daughters from gunfire. Two others, David Duch, 57, of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, were seriously injured. The shooting raises questions about how suspect Thomas Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, managed to access the roof of a nearby building with President Trump in his sights.

The FBI has been interviewing local law enforcement officials since Saturday's shooting, a process Knights said is “fact-finding” and will continue through the rest of this week and possibly beyond.

Knights also provided further details about the moment officers realized there was a suspicious person on the roof and how they responded before gunshots rang out at about 6:11 p.m.

“When it was discovered that a suspicious person was near the building, police, whose primary role is traffic control and guidance, moved towards the building due to its proximity.”

Knights said all police officers at the rally had received reports of “a suspicious person somewhere on the ground.”

Rally attendees then began pointing at a suspicious armed figure on the roof of a “light industrial office building” that Knights described as “unoccupied” at the time of the rally.

He said he was not aware of any police officers or agencies specifically tasked with monitoring the building, which was not technically within the assembly area but was next to it. The building is owned by AGR International, a manufacturing company.

“When the police got there in the immediate vicinity of the building after the suspicious person call, they searched the area, but they couldn't see anyone on the roof of the building from their vantage point,” Knights explained. “So one of the other officers literally… [other officers] I was high enough in the air to grab the edge of the roof.”

With no other access to the roof at the time, the officer managed to pull himself up until his “head was above the roof,” Knights said. The distance from the ground to the edge of the roof where the officer grabbed was about 12 feet.

“Officers did observe an individual on the roof,” Knights said. “The individual was confirmed to have a weapon” and “pointed the weapon at officers.”

The officer assumed a defensive position from where he was hanging from the edge of the roof and lowered his head, but his grip weakened, at which point he fell “approximately eight feet” to the ground and sprained his ankle, the town manager explained.

“Both the officer who lifted and the officer who put the person face down reported the incident. [and] The individual on the roof was determined to be armed.”

Knights said the gap in time and uncertainty between Saturday's incident and the release of the official report detailing the assassination attempt would, and has, led to “angry emails and phone calls.”

“We expect the report to be provided as timely as possible and in a manner that allows the public to have a clear understanding of the timeline and how the various elements occurred,” he said.

“The overall operational plan that the Butler County Police Department has developed for its traffic control role is [was] “It was well laid out, well planned, and had good internal communication with the other agencies that were tasked with the overall event. I thought their response to going from traffic control and patrol to responding to a possible active shooter situation spoke volumes about the training that went into it.”

Knights said he believes local police officers were able to identify the shooter and “de-escalate the whole situation as much as possible.”

“The harsh criticism from both sides has been pretty brutal and relentless,” he said. “It's been going on for about two days. Again, I hope that when the investigation is fully concluded and the full details of what happened are made clear, those who are quick to send hate mail will be just as quick to send emails of apology.”
