Calendar of new music films and series


As long as there are music fans, there will always be an audience for music documentaries, which is why 2024 is set to see several new documentaries, from fascinating deep dives into music history to behind-the-scenes looks at how music, old and new, is written, produced and performed.

And to make sure you don't miss any new releases, Billboard has compiled a list of all the real movies and series coming to our screens this year, many of which you can watch at home on various streaming services, including Disney+, Hulu, Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, and Apple TV+. Here you'll find documentary projects covering every genre of music and artists from every background, as well as close-up looks at places around the world rich in musical influences. Some are emotional, some poignant, some whimsical and some fun. Others will take you to places you've never heard of or behind doors you'd never have access to otherwise. But no matter how much of a music geek or history buff you are, each one of them is sure to teach you something you never knew before.
