Camila Cabello praises Lana Del Rey's candid lyrics for “exposing the other side of humanity.”
Former Fifth Harmony star Lana, 27, performed with her idol Lana, 38, at Coachella last month, where they performed Camila's latest song, “I Luv It,” but she didn't sing “Born To”. He highly praises him for being the hit maker of “Dai''. I'm brutally honest about my “messed up emotions.”
Camila told Genius about the song: “You embrace this shitty feeling. You need that, especially in pop, because everything is so clean and black and white. And I really like music that exposes humanity.” So I I love Lana so much because I feel like it's a complete human being, as opposed to being like, “And ta-da!”
Even though the two pop stars clearly have a lot of love and respect for each other, Lana compared herself to stars like Camila, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, and Beyoncé in movies in 2020. She faced backlash for her comments on the subject of equality. Posts about feminism.
She wrote on social media: “Doja Cat Now, Ariana [Grande]Camilla [Cabello]Cardi B, Kehlani, Nicki Minaj, and Beyoncé have hit number one with songs about being sexy, not wearing clothes, fucking cheating, etc. Can we go back to songs about feeling beautiful in what we wear, even if the relationship isn't perfect, or dancing for money, or whatever I want, being crucified or abused? Please love me without saying I’m glorifying it?????? (sic)”
Lana later added, “There needs to be a place in feminism for women who look and act like me, women who say no but men hear yes.”
She was forced to respond, insisting that her comments had nothing to do with race.
Lana said, “And my last final note on everything, when I say people who look like me, I mean people who don't look strong, don't necessarily look smart, or don't seem like they're in control. It meant people who look like .
“This is a statement about a more sensitive personality, not a white woman. Thank you for your comment Karen. It was helpful. (sic)”
