Megan Thee Stallion is scheduled to perform at Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign rally in Atlanta on Tuesday (July 30, 2024).
The “Hot Girl Summer” rapper joined Charli XCX, who adopted the “Brat Summer” slogan thanks to her popular song “Brat,” in endorsing Kamala for president after Joe Biden leaves office.
After announcing that he “fully endorses and supports Kamala as our party's nominee this year,” Charlie wrote to X, “Kamala is a brat.”
Charli's post was a reference to the title of her latest album, which was released on June 7, and shortly after it was posted, Kamala's official campaign used the endorsement to cash in by altering X's banner to resemble the “brat” style.
After the change, it read “kamala hq” in lowercase black letters on a lime green background.
Charlie (whose real name is Charlotte Emma Acheson) defined her interpretation of the word “brat” in a TikTok video: “You're like that girl who's a little messy, likes to party, and says stupid things sometimes.”
“She feels herself, maybe she's mentally exhausted, but she's the type of person who gets over it and is very honest, very forthright. She's a little volatile.”
“Like you'd do something stupid. But that's being cheeky. You're being cheeky. That's being cheeky.”
Some of Kamala's most popular quotes and video clips were spliced together and made to go along with Charlie's song.
Many of the clips are colored in the lime green shade of the singer's “Brat” album cover, or the cover pops up during clips of politicians.
One of the video's most used quotes is when Kamala said, “We did it, Joe,” after the president was elected in 2020 and became the first female vice president in U.S. history.
Following Joe's withdrawal from the 2024 race, Kamala began her first full day of campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination last Monday (July 22, 2024).
