With all eyes on the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, we've come up with a new kind of game: the Country Music Olympics. While it's certainly fun to watch graceful gymnasts perform death-defying stunts or cheer on the fastest runners on the planet, we have some ideas that are just as fun to compete in.

When are the 2024 Summer Olympics?

This year's Summer Olympics are scheduled to be held in Paris, France. The Olympics will kick off with an opening ceremony on Friday, July 26, and the closing ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, August 11. Some competitions began on Wednesday, July 24.

The 2024 Olympic Games will see over 10,000 athletes from 206 countries compete in 329 events across 32 different sports over several weeks.

NBC will once again be broadcasting the tournament, and fans can view the full schedule on the NBC website.

Where did they get the list of Country Music Olympic competitions?

The list of competitions for the Country Music Olympics was submitted by Taste of Country readers. Fans on our Facebook page shared their ideas for the perfect country-themed competitions after we asked, “If country music had its own Olympics, what competitions would they have?”

Many of the answers were musical, like holding a note the longest or singing the lowest baritone. Some even suggested yodeling. Others opted for more physical competitions like hay bale tossing. And, of course, there were some country-ish options, like cow tipping, lawnmower races, and the unique competition for longest burp.
