Tim Heidecker is back with new music.

Titled Slipping Away, the album will be released on October 18th via Bloodshot Records. To announce the new record, Heidecker has unveiled the music video for lead single “Well's Running Dry,” a song about writer's block and aging.

“When I wrote this, I worried that it would be uncool to talk about it,” Heidecker said in a statement to Variety, “but the next moment I thought, this is challenging and exciting. Let's get over it.”

Described as “their warmest, fullest record to date,” Slipping Away was recorded with the Very Good Band, featuring Eliana Athayde on bass, vocals and additional production, Josh Adams on drums, Vic Berger on keyboards, Connor “Catfish” Gallaher on guitar and pedal steel, and a special appearance by Tim's daughter Amelia.

Working with the band gave Heidecker's music an exciting live feel. “I've been in one form or another in 'entertainment' for the last 20 years, so stepping out of my comfort zone a little bit was an invigorating experience. It was a learning opportunity,” Heidecker said of recording “Slipping Away.”

According to a press release, the album's 10 tracks “explode universal anxieties, familiar settings and, at times, apocalyptic unease.”

Heidecker is best known for his work with Eric Wareheim in the comedy duo Tim & Eric and for appearing in films like Bridesmaids, Us and Ant-Man and the Wasp, but he's not interested in categorizing his art as comedy or music.

“I've finally come to the point where I'm like, 'Let's stop thinking about these things as genres,' and the work will come out in different formats, but hopefully everything I'm making will become one big thing. I think it's pretty unified,” Heidecker said.

Additionally, Tim Heidecker & The Very Good Band will support Waxahatchee with Snail Mail on a string of East Coast dates, including a co-headlining show with Snail Mail at SummerStage in New York City. Tour dates and ticket information can be found here.
