There is a possibility that S Club and Steps will work together.
Following the death of Paul Cattermole and the departure of Hannah Spearritt (43), John Lee (42), who is now part of the group Reach for the Stars with Rachel Stevens (46), Tina Barrett (47), Bradley McIntosh (42) and Joe O'Meara (45), would like to see himself and his bandmates form a supergroup with the Deeper Shade of Blue bands formed in 1998 and 1997 respectively.
He told The Sun's Bizarre column: “S Club and Steps have been around for the same time and our anniversaries are only a few months apart.”
“I would love to get everyone together and have a Steps Club reunion.”
The members of Steps are Claire Richards (46), Lee Ratchford Evans (49), Lisa Scott Lee (48), Faye Tozer (48) and Ian H Watkins (also 48).
The group have just played the Isle of Wight Festival and are delighted that pop is no longer a dirty word.
Tina said of festivals in the raucous '90s: “Festivals back then were all about rock bands like the Rolling Stones and Oasis.
“Now people love pop again. Basically, it's not as embarrassing as it was back then.”
S Club reformed last year to play to 20,000 people at London's O2 Arena, just months after Paul's tragic death aged 46.
Meanwhile, Rachel recently hinted that she is planning a solo comeback.
Following a stellar performance at London's Mighty Hoopla festival, she is considering resuming her solo career.
She told The One Show: “I just did this festival a few weeks ago called Hoopla.
“It was my first time back on stage playing my own songs.
“It was a fantastic feeling and we had a fantastic reception.
“It was incredible. I love performing, so the thought that I might be able to get on stage again makes me excited all over again.”
“No one knows. Things are always changing.”
