SEVENTEEN vows to 'wow everyone' at Glastonbury – Music News

SEVENTEEN hopes to make history and “wow everyone” at Glastonbury.

The South Korean boy band – consisting of S.COUP, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino – will be the first K-pop band to perform on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, on Friday (28 June 2024).

Speaking to the BBC about the major milestone for the world-famous festival, Choi Seung-cheol, aka S. Kup, said: “I feel a great sense of responsibility.

“We want to get back to that feeling, prepare as best we can and surprise not only our fans but the whole audience.”

Choi insists there is nothing wrong with playing during the day.

The 28-year-old star said: “The time of day isn’t that important to us.

“Actually, it's even better to play in the afternoon because the audience can get a better view of us in the sunlight.”

Meanwhile, Katie Baser slammed those who disagree with this year's lineup.

Glastonbury has made history by promoting female artists, with 28-year-old Dua Lipa and 34-year-old SZA headlining alongside Coldplay, the first time the festival has had more than one woman headlining the show.

Shania Twain, 58, will perform in the coveted Sunday afternoon legends slot.

The 21-year-old rising star, who performs at the Avalon Stage on Sunday (30 June 2024), told complainers in an interview with Metro.co.uk: “Then don't go.”

She continued, “Why do you care?

“I've never looked at a festival lineup and thought, 'Wow, that's amazing.'”

“I do not care [who is playing] I'm like, let's have fun. Also, what's SZA? She's been my number one artist to listen to since I was 12 years old.

“I love her! Coldplay? What do you mean? Shania Twain. What more could you want?”

“People need to calm down. And when they're there, they're probably thinking, 'Oh, that's amazing.' What is all the fuss about?”
