Willie Nelson cancels show due to 'doctor's orders' – Music News

Willie Nelson has cancelled a planned show due to “doctor's orders.”

The 91-year-old singer was scheduled to headline the Outlaw Music Festival in Alpharetta, but has pulled out of that performance and several other upcoming shows.

“We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and his doctor has advised him to take the next four days of rest.”

His agent said in a statement.

“He is expected to recover quickly and join us on the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week, during which Lukas Nelson (Willie's son) and the Family Band, along with several guests, will be performing a special set including some of Willie's classics and more.”

Last year, a documentary about Willie revealed little-known details about the country star's background, in which he described how he and his brother were raised by his grandparents, his mother left soon after he was born, and his father remarried and abandoned the family.

“For as long as I can remember, Bobby and I called our grandparents 'Mommy and Daddy Nelson,'” he said. “Mommy and Daddy Nelson gave Bobby and me the two gifts that saved our lives: love and music. They taught us music as a form of worship, another way to glorify God. They supported us, raised us, and tried to lead us, at least me, on the right path.”

Willie has been married four times and has seven children.
