Coldplay have announced that they will release their 10th studio album, Moonmusic, on October 4th. The album's first single, “Feels Like Im Falling In Love,” is set to be released this Friday. The album is produced by Max Martin, who has worked with everyone from Britney Spears and The Weeknd to Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. The album will be the group's first since 2021's Music of the Spheres.
Coldplay are one of the most environmentally conscious artists in music, and in a statement, the band committed to sustainability beyond their music. Alongside the sustainability measures on the band's current tour (which has so far generated 59% less CO2e emissions than their previous stadium tour), the band have made significant efforts to make the physical release of Moon Music as sustainable as possible.
It is the world's first album to be released as a 140g Eco Record LP, with each copy made from nine recycled PET plastic bottles recovered from post-consumer waste, avoiding the production of over 25 tonnes of virgin plastic and reducing manufacturing process CO2 emissions/kg by 85% compared to traditional 140g vinyl.
Additionally, the band has teamed up with longtime partner Ocean Cleanup to create an additional format, the Notebook Edition EcoRecords LP. This edition's rPET is made from 70% river plastic recovered by Ocean Cleanup from the Rio Las Vacas in Guatemala and prevented from entering the Gulf of Honduras and the Atlantic Ocean. You can watch Ocean Cleanup's video on the process here.
The CD edition of Moon Music will be released on the world's first EcoCD, made from 90% recycled polycarbonate produced from post-consumer waste, reducing CO2/kg emissions by at least 78% and avoiding the production of over 5 tonnes of virgin plastic.
As part of our efforts to reduce waste, the first editions of Moon Music (both EcoRecord LP and EcoCD) will be strictly limited and produced to higher specifications than any future editions. All first edition EcoRecord LP products will be individually numbered.
Moon Music is currently available to pre-order in four physical formats, all clearly marked as First Edition, with all EcoRecord rPET LP products being individually numbered.

The Notebook Edition (EcoCD and EcoRecord LP) is a hardcover cased book. The book is a replica of Chris Martin's original studio notebooks and features 28 pages of notes, lyrics and illustrations about the album's writing and recording process. The Notebook Edition also includes additional audio notes and demos from the album's recording sessions.
