Courteney Cox recreates the 'Dancing in the Dark' video

Courteney Cox has shared a new clip on social media in which she recreates her iconic dance from Bruce Springsteen's music video “Dancing in the Dark.”

Yesterday, the Friends and Scream actress took to Instagram to join the viral '80s dance trend, in which young social media users are asking their parents to recreate the dance they did in the 1980s to Bronski Beat's “Small Town Boy.”

In the video, Cox is seen wearing a blue jacket, waving her arms around, then shrugging it off to reveal a Bruce Springsteen T-shirt, before she begins dancing as she did in the “Dancing In The Dark” music video, and the post then cuts to a clip from that music video.

Cox, then unknown (she has only one credit, for “As the World Turns”), was cast as a fan in the 1984 music video, in which Springsteen and his band perform the song onstage, and afterwards he picks her out of the crowd to dance with him.

Cox's “Dancing in the Dark” rendition has garnered support from her Hollywood friends, with Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston reacting with a string of emojis, actress Julianne Moore clapping back, Jennifer Garner commenting, “You win!” and giving the video five stars, and Lily Aldridge calling Cox an “icon.”

Since appearing in the “Dancing in the Dark” music video, Cox has gone on to appear in films and television series, including Friends, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Family Ties, Friends, Scream, and The Longest Yard.

In more Bruce Springsteen news, The Boss has been forced to postpone his shows in Prague and Milan due to “vocal problems”. However, the legendary musician is set to resume the tour tomorrow (12 June) in Madrid. He has been forced to reschedule his 2023 US tour dates due to his ongoing battle with digestive ulcers.
