Nearly three years after her solo debut with two singles, it looks like BLACKPINK's LISA is finally returning with new music.
On Thursday (June 6), the K-pop star posted a minimalist teaser to her Instagram Story that simply read, “Coming soon: LISA.”
The graphic also features links to pre-save the unnamed project on Spotify and Apple Music, and a teaser has also been posted on her official website, as well as on LLOUD's management page.
The Thai rapper ushered in a new era with a video on TikTok: set to a gritty synth beat and titled “Coming Soon” on the platform, the video sees her posing self-effacingly in a cute outfit.
Lisa first unveiled her own music in September 2021, releasing the singles “Lalisa” and “Money” through YG Entertainment and Interscope Records. The latter track became the first solo K-pop hit to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify in 2023, and its music video recently made her the first singer to surpass 1 billion views on YouTube.
Also in 2021, LISA participated in a single titled “SG” with DJ Snake Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion. Last year, she participated in a track titled “Shoong!” with BIGBANG's Taeyang.
Lisa and her BLACKPINK bandmates Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé are currently on hiatus after releasing the album “Born Pink” in 2022, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In April, Lisa signed with RCA Records with an eye toward her future solo career, inking a deal that allows her to retain ownership of her master recordings.
“I am so excited to join the RCA family and believe they are the perfect team to make a big move in my solo career,” Lisa said in a statement at the time. “I can't wait to show the world everything we've got in store.”
