Dogstar has announced its “Summer Vacation Tour 2024” in the United States.
The rock band, made up of bassist Keanu Reeves, guitarist/vocalist Brett Domrose and drummer Rob Mailhouse, are currently touring across Europe and have revealed that US fans will get the chance to see them in performance from August.
The band said in a statement: “We've been having a great time on the road and interacting with our fans at these shows, and we wanted to keep it that way!”
“We'll be trying out some new songs during our next US show in August. We can't wait to see you all there!”
Rob also shared the band's excitement on Instagram.
Commenting under Dogstar's announcement post, he wrote, “Can't wait to meet you all! Thank you all for your love and support.”
“You can feel that every time you step on stage.”
Dogstar returned after a 23-year hiatus last October with the release of the album Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, but Keanu hinted that the album was just the beginning.
The “John Wick” actor told Variety Music magazine: “I want to make another album, I want to get in the studio, tour, play, travel, play great shows and give people a really good time.”
Brett added that the new music is different to his previous work as it is “a bit lighter” in subject matter.
He explained: “I think thematically, this album is a little lighter than my recent albums.”
“I think we've aged 20 years and lived a lot of life since we last made a record, so it was a pleasant surprise to hear something like this come out of us.
“The truth is, we're not as depressed as we used to be. Not all the songs are summery and happy, but… I hate to say it, but they're fun.”
The Matrix star agreed, saying, “I think it's definitely representative of Dogstar now and not a comparison to Dogstar of the past. Like Brett said, I think it shapes who we are now.”
