Jungkook is set to release a song dedicated to the BTS ARMY.
The 26-year-old star is set to release “Never Let Go” on Friday (07.06.24), which he describes as a “heartfelt tribute” and “sign of gratitude” for the “boundless love” he has received from the K-pop boy band's loyal fans.
The group's label, BIG HIT MUSIC, updated Weverse, saying: “We are excited to announce the release of BTS member Jungkook's fan song, 'Never Let Go.'”
“'Never Let Go' is a heartfelt tribute to Jungkook's fans, encapsulating the message 'never let go of each other' as a token of gratitude for the endless love from ARMYs around the world. Thank you for your anticipation and excitement for the new song.”
“Thank you for your continued love and support for BTS.”
Meanwhile, Jungkook previously declared that “BTS' synergy in 2025” will be “incredibly amazing.”
The South Korean boy band has been on hiatus since last summer as band members including RM, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, V and Jimin have been focusing on solo projects and fulfilling their mandatory military service.
And Jungkook, who released his debut solo album “Golden” in November last year, admitted he misses his bandmates and is looking forward to a reunion.
In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, he said, “We've been together for so many years, so it feels lonely when they're not next to me. I miss them… I think the synergy of BTS in 2025 is going to be incredible.”
Jungkook's comments echo those of his bandmate V, who said when the group announced their disbandment, “The synergy we will create when we reunite will be unparalleled.”
Regarding the loneliness of being a solo artist, Jungkook said, “While preparing to become a solo artist and working as a solo musician…there were times when I really missed BTS.
“When I was in the dressing room, alone on stage, or even eating with the crew, it was clear to see that they weren't next to me. We had spent so many years together that their absence left a noticeable void.”
Announcing the hiatus, RM said it was time for the group to go it alone, adding: “I've always thought BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the idol system as a whole is that they don't give us the time to mature.”
“I need to keep making music and keep doing things.”
J-Hope said, “I think we should spend some time apart to learn how to come together again. Don't take this as a negative thing, take it as a healthy plan. I think BTS will become even stronger if we do that.”
