Weather experts said the early arrival of the monsoon, initially predicted on May 31, may have been due to Cyclone Remal redirecting the monsoon current towards the Bay of Bengal.

Kerala has recently experienced heavy rains, resulting in surplus rainfall in May, according to data from the Meteorological Department.

May 30th: Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions expected in some locations, warm nights and localized thunderstorms/lightning.

May 31: Heat wave expected in some places, warmer nights and scattered thundershowers/lightning with gusty winds (wind speed 30-40 KMPH).

June 1st: Extremely hot weather and warm nights are expected, with scattered thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds (30-40 kilometres per hour) in some places.

June 2nd: Heatwave and warm nights in isolated places.

Delhi govt sets up war room to monitor water tankers

The Delhi government has set up a central war room in the Delhi Water Commission to monitor supply of water tankers as per the requirement in the national capital, Delhi Minister Atish said on Friday.

Meteorological department predicts rains in parts of Andhra Pradesh from May 30 to June 3

The India Meteorological Department on Thursday predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over parts of Andhra Pradesh for five days from May 30.

Rainfall accompanied by strong winds is expected over parts of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP), Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) and Rayalaseema.

The Meteorological Agency said winds of up to 40 kilometres per hour were expected.
